Mysterious Forest by ChrisHogman Mysterious Forest by ChrisHogman
Mysterious Forest

Technique/Digital

So I did a Monet master study today, I learned a lot from it and tried to incorporate it in this painting. Should I continue experimenting with this style?

I like it, although I prefer the more realistic part of your work. (Haha, realistic) I mean how realistic it looks of course. Makes me feel like I am really at the place I am looking at.
I still feel like I am in that forest, though, and it feels so calming, but oddly enough also puts a slightest touch of fear in. I don't know why the fear. I suppose that is just me.
I suppose I kind of ask what the red is, are they rocks or something else. May they be from giants, or are there giants or some other creatures around? I guess the unknowing of what those are and if there are creatures around puts that touch of fear in.
To answer whether or not you should continue with this style, I'd say that it just depends on the times you feel like using it. If you feel like using it, then do it, because feeling what your working with makes it great. If you don't feel like using this technique, then of course don't use it.
The lack of using detail does make what you're looking at a little more curious, trying to figure out what one thing is to another.
